Meet The Crosslink Staff
Chet Sikes- Elder
BASIC STUFF: I have been married to my beautiful wife Dawn for almost 20 years. We have three children; Kyle (16), Morgan (14), and Erin (10). We live in Hillsborough.
We were serving the Lord at Ebenezer Baptist Church when Ken began to feel the call to start a new contemporary church in the Mebane area. Dawn immediately felt the call to help start the church. I wasn't sure. We started attending the new church planning meetings and God began revealing His plan for our family. As Crosslink was born, all I could think about was I could not wait to see how God was going to work through us to reach people that were lost and not attending church. What a blessing it has been!
I am excited to see how our church will continue to grow. We are blessed to have a Pastor who loves the Lord and the people in our community. what a privilege it to serve an awesome God!

Posted on Sep 04, 2008... | Cecil Powell- Life Group Coordinator
Hello, I'm Cecil Powell and I coordinate the Life Groups here at Crosslink. I am convinced that sustained spiritual growth is most likely to occur by participating in a Biblically Functioning Life Group. As a believer, it is our responsibility to grow and mature in our Christian faith. Life Groups are a great opportunity for this to happen. My primary responsibilities are to organize, oversee, and help make sure everyone at Crosslink gets plugged into a Biblically Functioning Life Group.
BASIC STUFF
I have been married to Leslie since 1989 and have one son, Luke. Before Luke came along we did a lot of traveling; Europe, Holy Land, and the United States which has given us a great appreciation for God's creation. With Luke being born and now in first grade, we have cultivated a new appreciation. Those who have kids know what I'm talking about and those who have more than one, God bless you! Children really are a gift from God...somedays, a better gift than others!
I grew up in Ohio and worked for the airlines. Shortly after getting married, we moved to Chicago where we lived for 13 years. In Chicago I had the opportunity to attend a mega church which created a lot of good ministry experiences. I participated with the Good Sense and Neighborhood Ministries. In 2005, I recieved and Associate's Degree from Moody Bible Institute in Biblical Studies.
We moved to Durham in November 2005. After coming to Durham, we attended Ebenezer Baptist and then New Horizon. In February 2008, while attending New Horizon, we felt God was calling us to attend church somewhere else. A few weeks later we found out the somewhere else was Crosslink. We have been attending and serving at Crosslink since March 2008. It is interesting how God has used different churches, people, and life experiences to help prepare us for our adventure here at Crosslink.

It was at camp that I starting to pray that God would bring an opportunity for me to further my children’s ministry in the fall of 2006 and this is when the Lord brought Ken Tilley to me with the offer to come serve the Lord at Crosslink Community Church. I thank Ken, Lee, and the Crosslink family for welcoming me and allowing me to serve God along with them, but most of all I thank God for bringing me to Crosslink to serve HIM in the community of Mebane.
