     Do you think this project isn't in full swing?  Well listen to what our Property Acquistion Team has going on.  They have found two potentially great pieces of property.   The first is 10 - 31 acres about 2 miles from the I-85/I-40 interchange on the corner of Wilson and Old Hillsborough Road.  The second is 62 acres off I-85/I-40 on West Ten Road.  The two properties differ but again, both have great potential.  The 10 -31 acres is a gently sloping field setting, whereas the 62 acres has more of a hilly, rougher terrain.

If you're not on board, then you're missing out on all the fun.  Team DreamBIG is growing fast and we are having a blast serving the Lord.  As we mentioned in our last post, we selected team leaders for this project.  Since our initial meeting, we have been steadily adding team members each week.  We are now well in excess of over 30 people on these teams.  Praise God!  Now this doesn't mean we have enough.  If you still want to join in on the fun, feel free to email Kitty at the church office with which team you are interested in joining.  Tonight is our second team leaders meeting, so we will be back soon with an update.  Keep checking this page, to see what God has in store for Crosslink Community Church next!

Our dreamBIG initative continues to move forward.  A couple of weeks ago we met with Brad Oaster from Harvestime, and he went over all the Team Leader's job descriptions.  The following is a list of all of our Team Leaders for dreamBIG at this point:

Steering Team - Jeff Woodrum & Rhett Macomson [co-leaders]

Prayer Team - Vic Duecker

Growth Team - Mark Deweese

Programs Team - Ira Straits

Communications Team - Devin Payne

Finance Team - Jeff Woodrum

Property Aquisition Team - John Barron

Our next meeting is August 5th.  At this meeting all the team leaders will report to the dreamBIG Team as to who is on their team.

We decided collectively at this meeting that we shouldn't do any type of capital campaign until the spring of 2009.  We all agreed that God never 'rushed' into anything.  So it makes sense that we pray, seek God, and ask Him to show us the land we need to pursue.  So the Property Aquisition Team is to identify 10 piece of property to look at, and then to narrow down to a few for the dreamBIG Team to explore.  More info to come on this one.

The dreamBIG locomotive was put in action Monday night as we signed on the dotted line...actually it was a solid line.  We are full steam ahead!  Brad Oaster from Harvestime was here and together we were successful in plotting out the next course of action which is to assimilate the following teams:  Prayer, Communications, Growth, Program, Finance, and Land Acquisition.  You will hear more about this in the coming weeks. 

We will also be investigating some land opportunities in the Efland/Mebane area.  We are confident that God will provide the perfect piece of property for Crosslink Community Church no matter where it may be.

We will be dreamin' BIG at the Blue Ribbon Diner on Monday, June 9th.  We are grateful that Blue Ribbon Diner is willing to help us raise money for our dreamBIG Fund.  Here's how it works.  You come to Blue Ribbon with your family, bring the dreamBIG Fund Flyer with you, and whatever you spend....Crosslink gets 15% of it!  This can be used for lunch or dinner.  Make sure you bring the flyer in with you.

On Sunday, June 1st we had a unanimous 100% conregational vote to contract with Harvestime Design/Build Firm located in Lakspur, Colorado.  We have a lot of work to do this summer.  Our goal is to launch a dreamBIG Capital Campaign in the fall.  In order to do this we must first complete our Strategic Ministry Plan, Campus Development Plan and all the floor plans.  So there is a lot to be done!  In the next couple of weeks we will be asking our congregation to step up and volunteer to be on certain dreamBIG Ministry Teams to help us carry out the conceptualization of the first phase.  So please be praying about your involvement. 

Don't forget you can begin to give to the dreamBIG Fund now!  You don't have to wait until our campaign begins.  Our dreamBIG giving more than doubled from May 18th to June 1st.  It went from $54,000 to $104,000!  Praise the LORD!  That's right in just two weeks!  There will be multiple opportunities for you to help in other fundraising efforts. 

On Monday, June 9th we will have a dreamBIG Fundraising night at Blue Ribbon Diner in Mebane.  If you go in and take a Blue Ribbon Flyer then 15% of all the proceeds will go towards our dreamBIG Fund.  Spread the word and bring someone with you!

We will also be doing a Golf Tournament in September for the dreamBIG Fund.  So there are multiple opportunities for us to participate.

On Sunday, May 18th the dreamBIG Team made a recommendation that Crosslink contract with Harvestime Design/Build Firm.  They would help us to develop a Strategic Ministry Plan, Campus Development Plan, floor plans for the first phase, site plan, demographic studies, and elevation drawings too.  This expense would be $40,000.  Twenty thousand dollars due at the signing of the contract, and then $5,000 per month for the following four months.  To check out Harvestime go to www.harvestime.com.

Once all of the plans are developed (4 to 6 months) we can then develop a 3D Virtual Tour through Creative Animations.  This is an additional cost not included in the $40,000 with Harvestime.  However, Harvestime recommends using this company to produce this tour.  This 3D Tour is used in conjunction with the dreamBIG Fundraising Campaign.  We currently have enough money in our dreamBIG Fund to cover all of this.  To see slideshows of what Creative Animations has to offer go to www.creativeanimation.com.

We will be voting on this recommendation on Sunday, June 1st.  The vote is reserved for the members of Crosslink.  If you are going to be out of town that weekend dowload your dreamBIG Ballot by doubling clicking this link dreamBIG Ballot.  You can mail this ballot to 204 N. As most of you know we voted back on June 3, 2007 to move forward with our vision.  If Old Fields was part of that vision then we were going to walk through the door, but if the door closed then we would follow God and not try to push through the closed door.  Well, the Elders of Crosslink and the dreamBIG Team met with the developers of Old Fields, and they won't be able to offer us the initial property.  With the housing market being so slow they haven't sold enough houses to put them in a position to excercise the option on the land we were looking into. 

A few weeks ago the developers came to us and threw out the possibility of us purchasing 18 acres on the residental side of the road.  They own this land, and wouldn't have to work out the option.  They offered it at $30,000 per acre, and they would need the money soon.  So after prayer, and wise discernment we felt it wasn't in the best interest of our people to "jump" into something this big, and this quick!

So where does that leave us now?  Well, it really doesn't change things that much....we are still moving forward!  Two services beginning in March is the plan, and we are meeting with several Design/Build firms to help us develop a Strategic Minsitry Plan (SMP).  This plan will help us accomplish our vision.  We believe once we get the plan in place then God will show us the land!  So here is what you can do right now.....

1)  Pray for God's guidance and discernment for the Elders and dreamBIG Team as we meet with the Design/Build Firms and develop this SMP.

2)  Pray about how you could help us develop a STOREHOUSE FUND for the purchase of furture land.

3)  Pray God guides us to the right piece of property.  Who knows He may choose to give us a piece of property!  He owns it all anyway!

We will be having a brief meeting to inform the membership of Crosslink where we are on the Old Fields Property at this point.  This meeting is scheduled for Sunday, October 21 immediately following the Sunday morning worship service.  The meeting should last about 15 minutes.  I hope to see you there!

On June 3 we voted on whether or not Crosslink should pursue our vision at Old Fields.  This included the purchase of the land.  That vote came back a unanimous ...100% affirmative vote!

Since that time we have been working hard behind the scenes on several key issues before we proceed.  We have met with Dan Euliss of the Bapitst State Convention to discuss our capital fundraising program.  We have also met with a highly recommended design/build firm called Harvestime from Colorado.   Their company specializes in helping a church think through their vision, and to design the church in phases based on the vision.  They help churches develop their vision. 

They specialize in helping the church develop a Strategic Ministry Plan, and then the design of some phased buildings.  From this design phase comes a set of working floor plans that can be used to develop a virtual tour.  This virtual tour can be used in our dreamBIG Capital Fundraising Campaign.  Harvestime has set the "benchmark" in the area of design/build firms.  However, we want to make sure we aren't overlooking any company.  So we are researching as many design/build firms as we can to compare notes.

In the meantime the Old Field's Developers continue to work with the land owners to work out all the details of the land.  We plan to meet with them this week.  Please continue to pray as we seek God's leadership in the area of our vision.  Remember to always dreamBIG!
